Alec Baldwin makes bold demand amid new allegations over ‘Rust’ shooting

A grand jury in New Mexico has filed new charges against Alec Baldwin for the ‘Rust’ shooting incident.

Alec Baldwin has finally submitted his first legal response to new involuntary manslaughter charges filed against him.

According to entertainment tonightAlec’s lawyers stressed in their filing that they demand “an expedited trial, discovery and exculpatory information, and notice of defense intent to call witnesses.

Additionally, the document states that Alec made the specific request to “avoid public condemnation and suspicion.”

The actor has been ordered to appear before a judge in New Mexico to enter the plea on February 1.

‘Jung’ shooting incident

The incident occurred when Alec was pointing a gun at cinematographer Halina Hutchins during a rehearsal for the film’s shooting in October 2021 and the gun went off, killing her and injuring director Joel Souza.

At the time, he insisted that he did not pull the trigger, but rather pulled the gun’s hammer back before it fired.
