Shilpa Shetty Says Her Mother Was Told To Abort Her, Says `I Was Stillborn`

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra, currently serving as a judge on a reality TV show, shared a deeply personal revelation about her birth. She disclosed that her mother, Sunanda Shetty, was advised by doctors to abort her due to a difficult pregnancy. Shilpa was born stillborn, and her mother believed she was going to lose her during the pregnancy. This challenging experience has led Shilpa to consider herself a ‘survivor’ and believe that she was born for a purpose.

Speaking exclusively with Zoom Entertainment, Shilpa recounted her mother’s difficult pregnancy and the doctor’s recommendation for an abortion due to constant bleeding. Despite these odds, she survived, and her mother always believed that she was destined for a greater purpose. Shilpa views her film career as a catalyst in her life and aims to inspire and support others facing hardships, as evident in her frequent social media messages of encouragement.

Shilpa Shetty, married to businessman Raj Kundra since 2009, is a mother to two children, Viaan and Samisha. On the professional front, she is set to appear in the film ‘Sukhee’ and has a project with director Rohit Shetty titled ‘Indian Police Force.’
