Filmmaker Karan Johar refreshed old memories on Salman Khan’s birthday. Salman turned 58 on Wednesday. On the occasion, Karan Johar wrote a long note on his debut film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, starring Salman in a supporting role, to which he happily agreed despite being rejected by many others. Karan shared a picture of Salman from the film and wrote, “25 years ago I was lost and confused at a party…. A big film star came up to me and asked me why I was standing in a corner… I told him that I had gone to many actors for a role but was politely rejected.’
Salman Khan plays the role of Aman in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
In ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, Salman has played the character of Aman, who is one of the most favorite characters of the film. Aman sacrifices his love, Anjali (played by Kajol), so that he can reunite with his unrequited love. Shahrukh played the role of Rahul Khanna, Anjali’s best friend and childhood crush. Rani Mukherjee appears as Rahul’s love interest, whom Rahul marries.
Alvira wanted Salman to do ‘KKHH’
While Kajol, Shahrukh and Rani played lead roles in the film, Salman appeared only in the second half. However, Karan said that Salman has no problem with his small role. He revealed, “The superstar’s sister is very close to me so she politely said that she had spoken highly of my script and I should meet her the next day to narrate the film… I never dreamed that I would get such a ” Opportunity for a statement.
“I went in with a prayer in my heart and a deep desire for a miracle and narrated the first half of the film as if my life depended on it… She looked at me at the interval point (by then I was looking as if I was in the Sahara desert and water can keep me alive) lovingly offered me water and said, ‘I’m ready!’ Karan went on to reveal why Salman actually came on board and thanked his sister Alvira.

He further added, “I was surprised and said, ‘You are in the second half’ didn’t you hear that?” He said, ‘I love your father and if I don’t do this film my sister will kill me’ and that’s how Salman Khan was in KKHH. I am very grateful to Alvira and my father’s goodwill in ensuring that I have the perfect Aman and Salman Khan in my first film! Such gestures and stories don’t happen these days! Happy Birthday Salman! So much love and respect for you always. Plus, after 25 years, we’ll finally have a story to tell again… nothing else can be said other than happy birthday.”
Meanwhile, Salman Khan celebrated his birthday with his friends and family in Mumbai. She cut her birthday cake with her niece Ayat at the party, which was attended by celebrities including Bobby Deol, Neha Dhupia, Angad Bedi, Nandita Mehtani, Helen, Arpita Khan and Aayush Sharma.
