‘Parasite’ actor Lee Sun-kyun was found dead in his car in a suspected suicide on December 27
Parasite star Lee Sun-kyun was buried after a tearful funeral at Seoul National University Hospital, where the actor’s family, friends and fans gathered to say their final goodbyes.
Well-wishers of the actor, who tragically died in a suspected suicide at the age of 48, wept near the vehicle carrying Sun-kyun’s coffin.
Sun-kyun’s wife, Jeon Hye-jin, and their two sons looked sad as they walked with the procession to send the actor off on his last journey.
The actor’s eldest son held his portrait while his friends and fans tearfully watched the funeral procession.
Sun-kyun was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his car parked in Seoul, South Korea on December 27.
The actor had a charcoal briquette in the passenger seat, leading to all signs pointing to possible carbon monoxide poisoning.
Reports suggest that first responders also declared him dead at the scene, and thus no efforts were made to take him to a hospital.
It was also reported that Hye-jin told police on an emergency call that “my husband had left the house after writing a will-like note.”
