Shakira opens up about finding work-life balance after split from Gerard Pique

Talking about finding work-life balance after the split, Shakira opened up about how her relationship with ex Gerard Pique was troubling her.

The singer said during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 that she felt “guilt” while working because she left her and Pique’s two children at home.

She shared, “It was like a love-hate relationship sometimes because every time I had to drag myself into the studio to do my work, I would fail.”

The singer continued, “I felt like I was leaving my family alone. There were times when I didn’t really enjoy it. You know, I felt guilty. I felt broken.”

However, things have changed for Shakira, revealing, “However, it is more challenging because now I am in charge of these two children, these two children who depend on me so much.”

“And I’m a single mom, I don’t have a husband at home to help with anything,” she added. “In a way, it’s kind of good not to have a husband because he’s…I don’t know why it’s dragging me down, man.

“Now I feel like working. I feel like writing songs. I feel like making music. It’s a vital need of mine that I didn’t feel before.”
