Tom Hollander reveals his talent agency once accidentally sent him Tom Holland’s big salary
British actor Tom Hollander has revealed the hilarious mistake he made and the 7-sum digit check he went through when his agency mistook him for Tom Holland, who is also managed by the same organisation.
visible on Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Night Manager The star said he was often mistaken for a Marvel hero. But at one point even his talent agency got confused.
“The people in the accounting department at my agency got confused. In essence, we were in the same agency,” white lotus the actor said.
The 56-year-old recalled the incident when he was in a Chekhov play.
“I sat in the audience relaxed, I’d just done a BBC show for 30 grand or something, which I was supposed to do for the next year or so,” he explained.
Tom expressed his surprise after receiving a mail containing a huge amount of money.
He added, “I got an email from the agency that said, ‘Payment Advice Slip: Your First Box-Office Bonus for ‘The Avengers’.”
Noting, “And I thought, ‘I don’t think I’m in “The Avengers.”‘ It was an amazing amount of money.”
What was more shocking for the actor was how much money Tom earned at this age.
He surprisingly shared, “It wasn’t his salary; it was his first box-office bonus. Not the full box office, the first bonus.”
“It was more money than I ever had… It was a 7-figure sum. It was 20 or something.”
Tom said, “So my sense of self-satisfaction disappeared very quickly. But that’s showbiz.”
